All modules of The Summer School of Management 2024 will be taught by experienced lecturers who are also business practitioners using active learning methods such as case study, design thinking, action learning and others.

Aleksandra Kuźmińska-Haberla, PhD – an assistant professor at the Department of International Economic Relations at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, a certified tutor, and a facilitator at the Center for Designing Innovative Solutions – DT HUB at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business. In her research and teaching, she focuses on issues related to cultural differences in business, international marketing, and startup ecosystems and development. She is the author and co-author of many articles and books, training manuals, studies, and analyses for enterprises and institutions, including for the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency S.A., ETTA Leadership & Culture. She completed a research internship at Corvinus University of Budapest, Budapest, Hungary (2019). She also participated in research and business internships sponsored by the UE and the City of Wroclaw. She works mainly in English and conducts classes and workshops in international groups. She was a visiting lecturer at several European universities in Finland (2012); Cyprus (2012);  Italy (2014); Hungary (2017); Germany (2018). She conducted workshops in the field of intercultural competencies, including at HSBC Bank Polska S.A., and Onet S.A. She runs regular Design Thinking workshops at the Center for Designing Innovative Solutions – DT HUB at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business.

Problem-solving Skills Workshop

Patrycja Paleń-Tondel, M.Sc.  graduated from the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences and postgraduate studies at the Wroclaw School of Banking in the field of Business Coach. She works as a lecturer and trainer at the Wroclaw University of Economics; she conducts classes in Polish in the field of Logistics and Management and in English in the Bachelor of Business Management field. Author of training programmes in the area of Business Skills, she trains MBA students. Her research interests include knowledge management, organisational culture, organisational values, Employer Value Proposition and employee diversity management. Privately a keen traveller, gardener and reading enthusiast.

Hanna Adamiczka, PhD is employed at the Department of Spatial Economy and Local Government Administration. PhD Adamiczka is interested in urban development, the real estate market and megatrends, especially in urban space. In addition, she works in a real estate and design office; she also cooperates with the local government (e.g. in developing the concept of a water tram in Wrocław, the Sudety 2030 development strategy or the Wrocław 2030 development strategy).

Agata Pluta, PhD, Eng. is employed at the Department of Spatial Economy and Local Government Administration. She conducts scientific research on urban development and real estate management. She also uses her research interests in practice, e.g. in cooperation with local governments. She is interested in spatial planning, design, and the real estate market. She is the author of the Virtual Space Laboratory program, in which, together with students, she designs the concept of real area development using 2D/3D programs. It also cooperates with municipalities, e.g. on Strategy Sudety 2030.

Jerzy Chyb – graduated in English philology from the University of Wrocław, as well as education (PGCE) and media studies from Nottingham Trent University (formerly Nottingham Polytechnic). Currently a senior lecturer of Business English at WUEB’s Department of Foreign Languages, he is also a translator, interpreter and international examiner. In his professional career, he has been a secondary-school English teacher, teacher trainer, tutor and supervisor of trainee teachers of English, author of books (“Illustrated English Idioms”) and popularizer of the English language, presenter of radio and TV programmes, organizer of language competitions and quizmaster, international project manager and coordinator, language school director and city guide – to name a few. His interests include foreign language teaching methodology, applied linguistics, literature and visual arts.

Magdalena Daszkiewicz – PhD, assistant professor, researcher, consultant and business trainer. The author and co-author of over 80 publications on marketing communication, social marketing, branding, place marketing, etc. Magdalena Daszkiewicz conducts research and expert activities on designing, implementing and evaluating social campaigns. The member of the European Marketing Academy, Academy of Marketing Science, and Polish Scientific Society of Marketing. International Academic Experience – lectures at Università Degli Studi di Cagliari (Italy), Instituto Politecnico do Porto (Portugal), Université de Neuchâtel (Switzerland).

Dawid Kościewicz – PhD, deputy director, UEW Library; interested in information literacy, in-depth desk research using business data and international business databases, and open source intelligence (OSINT) application in scientific and business research. He is also involved in projects related to academic tutoring, group facilitation and design thinking.

Cyril Junior Dim is Zimbabwean by descent and was educated as a Software Engineer in Wrocław, Poland. He has spent the past 13 years mastering the art of Public Speaking. Cyril’s exploits have taken him across all avenues of the spoken word, including theatre, Stand-Up Comedy, TEDx, Sports Commentary, and Events Hosting. He is most
recognized as an achieved Competitive Public Speaker, having won 2 National Championships in 2 countries in 2 languages. The multi-award winning speaker is also recognized Toastmasters International’s 2022 World Champion of Public Speaking, the youngest person to ever win the title. Cyril views Public Speaking as a force for inspiration, growth and self-discovery and helps people to elevate their careers bybecoming better communicators.

Ewa Popowicz – PhD, is employed as an assistant at the Department of Advanced Research in Management at the Wrocław University of Economics and Business. Her scientific interests concern strategic management, communication and sustainability. She conducts classes in the fields of business strategy, strategic analysis, management and organisational culture. She is also an active member of the Green Team Competence Center, where she organises workshops to raise awareness of climate challenges and ESG policy requirements. She is also responsible for implementing activities related to developing scientific competencies, such as workshops, seminars and webinars.

Karolina Daszyńska-Żygadło – PhD, holds the position of assistant professor in the Department of Corporate Finance and Public Finance at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business in Poland. Her research fields are business valuation, financial planning and corporate sustainability. In 2015, her book on scenarios approach in business valuation was published in Poland. Along with her academic career, she works as a business coach and mentor with early-stage businesses and start-ups in the system thinking and systems innovations approach.

Dominika Hadro – PhD, Eng, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Finance (Wroclaw University of Economics and Business), where she is also a Member of the Strategic Management Committee, Advisor at the Sustainability Office, and Editor-in-Chief of the Financial Sciences Journal. She holds an MSc in Management from the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology and a PhD in Finance from the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business. Her research fields link together finance, sustainability, and corporate communication with a special interest in textual analysis tools and measures.

Joanna Macalik, PhD – Rector’s Deputy – since 2023 Coordinator of the Summer School – assistant professor in the Department of Marketing Management at the Wroclaw University of Economics, certified academic tutor, design thinking facilitator at the DT HUB Center for Designing Innovative Solutions. Academically, she is involved in marketing communication, image creation, personal branding, employer branding and territorial marketing. She is a public relations practitioner – he has several years of professional experience as a journalist, PR specialist and press officer. She is a consultant in image creation, product and service launches, Internet marketing and event marketing. She is also an art historian.
